All Australian team 2022: Lauren Wood names best 22 players after round six of AFL season

He might have missed a week, but Carlton star Patrick Cripps picked up where he left off in his last huge performance, leaping straight back in to our rolling All-Australian team.

The star midfielder has earned a full 10 votes in the AFLCA voting in three games now and that’s put him back at the feet of Max Gawn in a team that saw the least number of changes in a weekend after six rounds so far.

Sorry, Christian Petracca. That means you’re to the bench with Clayton Oliver’s Frank “Checker” Hughes medal showing enough to take him off the pine.

Speedy Lion Zac Bailey’s six goals was enough to get him into the team for the first time this season at the expense of Tiger Shai Bolton, while Callum Mills’ dominance on the Apple Isle saw him sail back in, too.

It’s been quite a few weeks for Bailey, who coach Chris Fagan said is a key asset to the Lions’ hopes.

“He’s been on the rise for a couple of years,” he said.

“It’s only six games in and he’s probably taken another step forward in his football.

“He’s a great finisher, a clever player. We are lucky to have him.”
