  • How do I download the CODE app?

    Download the CODE app directly onto your smartphone through the App Store or Google Play Store.

    If you’re on your computer, use your camera on your smartphone and hover over the QR code below to download the CODE app.

    How do I login to the app?
    Once you’ve downloaded the app:
    1. Open the app by clicking on the CODE icon on your mobile
    2. Select the ‘hamburger’ menu (three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of your screen)
    3. Select ‘Settings’
    4. Select ‘Log in’
    5. Enter your CODE email address and password

    What is the My CODE tab?
    With My CODE you can create a personalised news feed by following the sports and teams you love.

    How many sections can I follow in My CODE?
    You can follow up to 50 sections in your My CODE Feed.

    What teams and sports can I follow in My CODE?
    You can follow every AFL and NRL team, as well as the following sports – AFL, NRL, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Motorsports, Baseball, Boxing, Cycling, Golf, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, Netball, NFL, Rugby Union, Surfing, Tennis and UFC.

    How do I set up or change the sections in My CODE?
    You can manage what sports and teams you see in My CODE by going to My CODE in the bottom nav bar and tapping the edit button at the top right of the screen. Here you can select or deselect what you follow and also set the order they appear in My CODE by tapping ‘reorder’ and dragging them into the order you want. You can also tap the ‘follow ‘/’unfollow’ button at the top of each individual section to add/remove them from My CODE.

    How do I turn notifications on or off?
    1. Open the app by clicking on the CODE icon on your mobile or tablet
    2. Select the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of your screen)
    3. Select ‘Settings’, then ‘Notifications’
    4. Turn notifications on/off by tapping the toggle button. Blue indicates that the notification is on. Grey indicates the notification is off.
    5. If prompted to turn on notifications in your phone’s settings, click ‘Change settings’, then ‘Notifications’, then toggle on ‘Allow Notifications’.

    Is the CODE app free?

    What devices are supported?
    The CODE app supports iOS 10 and above and Android 5 and above.

    The app keeps crashing
    1. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the app by going to the app store and clicking update.
    2. Restart your device (turn it off, then turn it on again)
    3. Click on the CODE app icon to re-open the app

    How do I troubleshoot for the Android app?
    If you are using one of our apps on an Android device and are having issues logging in, follow the steps below:

    1. Ensure you are logging in using the email that is associated with the subscription you wish to access. You can do this by logging into My Account and checking you have an active digital subscription.

    2. If you are still unable to login and you are getting the error message ‘wrong email address or password’. Click the forgot your password button and reset your password. If the app is crashing, not updating or some of the content is missing, follow the below steps to resolve these issues.

    3. Check Device Settings & Clear Cookies
    – For the app to function properly, Chrome should be set as the default browser
    – Go to Settings
    – Navigate to Apps
    – Locate Chrome in the list
    – Select ‘Browser app’ and ensure Chrome is selected
    – Go to Storage in Chrome App settings and select “Clear cache” to clear all app data including cookies and saved data
    – Alternatively, you can open Chrome and clear cookies and site data from browsing history

    4. Delete and reinstall the CODE app
    – Delete app by holding down icon until it starts to wobble
    – A small menu should appear, with ‘Uninstall’ being an option
    – Select Uninstall
    – Go to Play Store and search for app and click install to download the CODE app
    – Note – you may need to enter your Google password, which may differ from your subscription login

    5. Log into CODE app
    – Once the app has completed downloading, open and go to login
    – There will be a warning regarding sharing of user data, ensure this is accepted

    How do I troubleshoot for the Apple app?
    If you are using one of our apps on an Apple device and are having issues logging in, follow the steps below:

    1. Ensure you are logging in using the email that is associated with the subscription you wish to access.You can do this by logging into My Account and checking you have an active digital subscription.

    2. If you are still unable to login and you are getting the error message ‘wrong email address or password’. Click the forgot your password button and reset your password. If the app is crashing, not updating or some of the content is missing, follow the below steps to resolve these issues.

    3. Check Device Settings & Clear Cookies
    – Go to Settings
    – Go to Safari in menu on the left hand side
    – In Safari settings, ensure Prevent Cross Site Tracking and Block All Cookies are set to OFF
    – Select Clear History and Website Data within Safari settings to clear cookies and cache from website and app
    – Go to Accounts and Passwords in left hand menu
    – Ensure AutoFill for passwords is turned ON

    4. Delete & Reinstall the app
    – Delete app by holding down icon until it starts shaking, then press the red ‘x’
    – Go to App Store and search for app to download
    – Note you will need to have your Apple password, which may differ from your login subscription login

    5. Login to App
    – Once app has finished downloading, open and go to login
    – There will be a warning regarding sharing of user data, ensure this is accepted
