Fremantle star Kiara Bowers has been spotted in crutches as she deals with an ongoing knee issue.

Bowers, 31, has already been ruled out of the Dockers’ round five clash with Richmond due to knee soreness after failing to play the final quarter of Sunday’s loss to Essendon.

Bowers was a late withdrawal from Fremantle’s round one western derby due to a similar injury

“Unfortunately, Kiara aggravated some bone bruising in her knee on Sunday’s clash,” AFLW senior physiotherapist Brett Fletcher said earlier this week.

“We’re just waiting to see how it settles down, but unfortunately she’ll be out for this week.”

As her Fremantle teammates trained on Thursday morning in South Yarra, Bowers was seen on crutches, supporting her teammates during the light session.

It’s understood the crutches are precautionary. Bowers does have a history of knee injuries but the Dockers remain hopeful she can play a role this season.

Bowers also trained at Fremantle’s gym session earlier this week.
