Fremantle star David Mundy likely to be late withdrawal from pre-season game
Even at 36, David Mundy remains one of Fremantle’s best and most important players. But an injury scare is set to see him sidelined from Friday evening’s date with West Coast.
Fremantle veteran David Mundy is likely to be a late withdrawal from the Dockers side to face West Coast on Friday evening in Perth.
While Mundy was named in Freo’s squad for the clash at Mineral Resources Park, CODE understands the star midfielder is unlikely to play, with the Dockers taking a conservative approach to an injury scare believed to be in Mundy’s neck and upper back region.
Mundy, 36, rolled his ankle earlier in what is his 19th AFL pre-season, but said earlier this month that he is aiming to play in round one against Adelaide.
Among the AFL’s most durable players, the former skipper and club games record-holder enjoyed perhaps the best season of his career last year, polling 20 Brownlow Medal votes.
