The Essendon District Football League’s best women’s footballers have put on a show this season. With the finals action underway, we’ve taken a look at the leading performers in 2025.

With the finals action underway, we’ve taken a look at the leading performers in 2024.

PREMIER DIVISION

Mikayla Barnes, Oak Park

The former VFLW player has been in brilliant form throughout the back half of the season which has her among the best in the league.

Eva Downie, Moonee Valley

Joined the club in the off-season from Tasmania and quickly established herself as one of her side’s best players. Earned three games with Essendon’s VFLW side.

Emily Findlay, Oak Park

The former VFLW star has put together arguably the best season of her career for the Roos. She’s been in the best in 10 games.

Terira Fry, Greenvale

One of the stars of the competition. Has thrived after stepping up from Division 1.

Chloe Healy, Maribyrnong Park

The youngster thrived this season, earning 10 mentions in the best in the 15 games she played.

Moana Hope, Aberfeldie

The ex-AFLW star returned to footy with a bang, finishing as the leading goalkicker in Premier Division with 63 goals in 15 games.

Olivia Madden, Aberfeldie

One of the star midfielders in the competition. Madden has put together another brilliant season for her side, named in the best in 15 out of 16 games.

Teagan Matthews, Keilor

The young star finished as her side’s leading goalkicker with 32 majors for the season.

Harmony Mitsos, Essendon Doutta Stars

The star midfielder has put together a brilliant season in the middle of the ground. Has a fantastic ability to win the ball and drive it forward.

Stephanie Normington-Dickens, Oak Park

Now in her second season with the Roos, She’s become the leading forward for one of the premiership contenders.

Adalita Pizzinga, Essendon Doutta Stars

Finished as her side’s leading goalkicker in the home-and-away season. She’s capable of kicking multiple goals.

Mia Spiteri, Hillside

Enjoyed a standout season for the Sharks with nine mentions in the best for her side.

Melda Temurci, Keilor

In her first season of senior footy, Temurci established herself as one of the young stars of the competition as the Blues finished with a 6-10 record.

Nadia Valenti, Moonee Valley

Enjoying the best season of her career to date as the Fog’s leading goalkicker this season.

Annalise Wilkie, Hillside

Consistently among the Sharks better players in recent seasons and has continued to put together strong performances.

Amelia Wright, Aberfeldie

In her first full season of senior footy, Wright has been brilliant for the minor premier. Named in the best on 12 occasions this season.

DIVISION 1

Bridgette Aparo, Coburg Districts

Limited to just nine games but appeared in the best on eight occasions.

Caitlyn Crameri, Keilor Park

Has put together another strong goalkicking season for her side with 27 majors in 15 games.

Charlotte Jackson, Tullamarine

The former Calder Cannon joined the club at the start of the season and made an instant impression consistently appearing in the best for her side.

Alexandra Kilty, Keilor Park

Been a consistent performer over the last two seasons. Kilty is on track for a Team of the Year selection again.

Holly McGregor, Burnside Heights

Consistently among the better players for her side and has been a force up forward with 23 goals and eight mentions in the best.

Talia Motta, Strathmore

One of the Mores’ young stars. Booted 23 goals in nine games and earned a VFLW opportunity.

Milla Murphy, Strathmore

After returning to the club at the start of the season from Pascoe Vale-Hadfield, Murphy has emerged as one key players for the premiership favourite.

Clara Toperosa, Strathmore

Put together a brilliant season after a strong 2024, consistently among the better players for her side.

Krissy Trang, Burnside Heights

One of the stars of the competition in recent years. Trang earned a VFLW opportunity with Williamstown earlier in the season.

Gemma Wright, Westmeadows

Another brilliant season from the star Tiger. On her day, she’s as good as anyone in Division 1.

DIVISION 2

Tylah Bell, Sunbury Kangaroos

Bell has put together a brilliant season as her side aims for a place in the grand final.

Taylah Brady, Sunbury Lions

A consistent performer for the Lions over a couple of seasons who continued that form this year.

Rebecca Foggie, Taylors Lakes

Built on a strong 2024 when she played eight games. Named in the best 13 times so far.

Danira Fuamatu, Roxburgh Park

Has taken her game to another level this season, emerging as one of the most important players for the black and white army.

Rhianna Kirk, East Sunbury

Been brilliant throughout the season for Thunder showing off her skills in a variety of ways.

Lucy Lenius, Gisborne-Kyneton United

Joined the club from Melton at the start of the season and has gone onto be an instant success.

Belinda Hateley, Gisborne-Kyneton United

Has consistently appeared in the better players for her side, rediscovering her best form in the second half of the year.

Summer Pazsa, Sunbury Kangaroos

Made the move from Hillside at the start of the season and has emerged as one of the finds of the season.

Alexia Todorovic, Gisborne-Kyneton United

The young star has been brilliant up forward this season, finishing the home-and-away season as the leading goalkicker.

Kristy Turner, Roxburgh Park

Returned to the footy field this year and has been a consistent performer for the top-four outfit.

Stefania Valerio, Taylors Lakes

One of the star goalkickers in the division, Valerio currently has 34 for the season.
