Alexander Isak will refuse to play for Newcastle again even if he is not sold this summer, talkSPORT understands.
The wantaway striker is determined to force through a transfer to Liverpool and is willing to do whatever it takes.
The 25-year-old has been banished from Eddie Howe’s first team squad and it is believed he has no intentions to reintegrate himself.
Newcastle’s position is they do not want to sell the striker, but they have been exploring potential replacements.
They missed out on Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United, while Nicolas Jackson remains of interest.
Liverpool saw a £110m bid turned down earlier this summer and have not returned with a second offer.
There has been no further dialogue between the two clubs and they will not bid again unless given encouragement by Newcastle that their stance has changed.
Liverpool have held exploratory talks with Crystal Palace over Marc Guehi, talkSPORT understands.
The Premier League champions are also interested in Parma youngster Giovanni Leoni.
Palace value Guehi at around £40million, with Liverpool previously registering an interest in the Eagles captain, but only for a figure below the £45m mark.
Things now appear to have changed, especially after Guehi’s last match where he led Palace to a Community Shield win over his potential future club, Liverpool.
Guehi has not agreed personal terms with the Reds despite reports claiming he has.
It’s understood Liverpool are keen to do any deal via the club rather than approaching the player first due to their good relationship with Palace chairman Steve Parish.
Speaking after the Community Shield, Parish was asked if he may have to cash in on the England international as his contract expires next summer.
“We’d have to do that, of course,” he responded.
“For players of that calibre to leave on a free, it’s a problem for us unfortunately.
“It needs a new contract or a conclusion of some kind.”
Yves Bissouma will not play for Tottenham Hotspur in the Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain due to ill-discipline.
But Bissouma won’t feature at Stadio Friuli in Udine, Italy as Thomas Frank revealed he reported late for duties on numerous occasions.
“Bissouma has not travelled with the group for disciplinary reasons,” the Spurs boss said in his press conference.
Frank added: “He’s been late several times and now this time was just one too many.
“With everything you need to give your players a lot of love and there needs to be demands and consequences.”
Gianluigi Donnarumma is a target for Manchester City this summer, but he will only be approached if Ederson leaves the club.
The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper is destined to depart the club only a few months after winning the Champions League.
In an emotional statement released on Tuesday, Donnarumma all-but confirmed his days in the French capital are numbered.
“To the special Paris fans,” Donnarumma said.
“From the first day I arrived, I gave everything – on and off the pitch – to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain.
“Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and disheartened.”
talkSPORT understands that Donnarumma is open to a switch to the Premier League.
Chelsea have been linked to the European champion, but no talks have taken place between the two parties.
Manchester United are another team rumoured to be interested, along with their rivals Manchester City.
However, talkSPORT understands that Donnarumma will only become a target for Man City if their current No.1 departs this summer.
Ederson has been City’s first choice goalkeeper for almost a decade since he joined in 2017, but now his future may be placed into doubt.
