BEST BET
MALLETIER (Race 7 No.6): The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Malletier resumed with an excellent second at Sandown and won’t have to improve much to go one better at Bendigo.

NEXT BEST
ENCHANTED JENNI (Race 4 No.8): Solid at Swan Hill and again tried hard when up to 1400m in town third-up. She’ll be fitter again and the step to 1600m looks perfect.
MATROOSHI (Race 6 No.1): The Warrnambool mare saluted first-up last time in before another solid effort at the May Carnival. She has a good first-up record and drops in class for this.

VALUE BET
LORD DOMINO (Race 5 No.3): The eight-year-old finished strongly to win an easier race at Wodonga but has a great record at Bendigo and should again be thereabouts on Thursday.

LAY OF THE DAY
CHEST OF GOLD (Race 8 No.6): Went to the spelling paddock a winner but it’s never easy to jump from a maiden win to BM64 level, especially when giving away fitness to seasoned horses.
