Super mare Pride Of Jenni has started her build-up to her massive spring campaign with a jumpout at Cranbourne on Monday.

Superstar mare Pride Of Jenni has started laying the groundwork for her spring preparation with a jumpout at Cranbourne on Monday.

Pride Of Jenni produced one of the most memorable performances in modern times at her last start in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick in April.

Regular rider Declan Bates travelled from Ballarat to pilot Pride Of Jenni in Monday’s jumpout, giving her a quiet time before the multiple Group 1 winner finished second in her heat.

Pride Of Jenni’s effort pleased trainer Ciaron Maher as the rising seven-year-old was not asked for an effort in the hitout.

Maher gave Pride Of Jenni an jumpout in late July as her high-pressure frontrunning racing style demands a high level of fitness.

Maher has set the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 31 as Pride Of Jenni’s first-up assignment.

TAB rated Pride Of Jenni as a $4.50 second favourite in its early Memsie Stakes market while the winner of more than $8.7m is the $3.50 favourite to win the Cox Plate in October.
