BEST BET
KING ZEPHYR (R10 No.3): King Zephyr should be primed for a big first-up run after three jumpouts. He won four in a row last prep before the streak ended on a wet track at Flemington. He needs to win here to have any chance of making the field in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
NEXT BEST
DESERT LIGHTNING (R8 No.4): Desert Lightning looks well placed here against mostly stayers resuming following his first-up second in the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes last month. He has the early speed to negate a wide barrier and maps to sit off the leaders.
SPACE RIDER (R6 No.1): Space Rider made a winning return at the track and trip after stalking the speed from barrier one. He should land in the perfect spot from barrier five and be hard to hold out again.
VALUE BET
FARHH FLUNG (R3 No.8): The track pattern was against Farhh Flung last time out at The Valley. He has been racing consistently and can figure in the finish with even luck from barrier one.
LAY OF THE DAY
CROSSBOW (R1 No.1): Crossbow will likely be giving the field a head start from the barrier and rival Godtfred Kirk would have finished ahead of him last start with clear running.
THE JOCKEY
MIEWA (R1 No.6 – $4.60), ELECTRIC BELLE (R2 No.1 – $35), MIRAVAL ROSE (R5 No.4 – $8), NIANCE (R9 No.14 – $7), KING ZEPHYR (R10 No.3 – $2.50).
