Formula 1 heads back to Canada for the first time in three years to race the ninth Grand Prix of the season on Monday 20 June in Australia. Here’s how to watch the race live on Kayo and catch up on the latest news.

2022 Canadian Grand Prix preview

It is a quick turnaround from Azerbaijan to Canada with F1 crossing the Atlantic for its next round following Max Verstappen’s fifth win of the year. Last week’s winner will start from pole while veteran Fernando Alonso joins him on the front row.

Daniel Ricciardo finished a much improved eighth in Azerbaijan which was his best finish since the Australian Grand Prix (sixth) in early April. The McLaren driver has also received the backing of team boss Andreas Seidl amid his slump in form.

In a minor boost for Ricciardo, he finished ahead of teammate Lando Norris at Baku.

COVID-19 cancelled the last two Canadian Grand Prixs with Lewis Hamilton reigning supreme at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in 2019. However, the seven-time world champion is being hampered by back pain but has reassured F1 fans he will be there in Montreal.
