NRL 2022 Casualty Ward Round 23: Panthers injury toll continues with Liam Martin out
The Panthers injury toll continues to mount on the eve of finals, with another star facing a stint on the sidelines after leaving the Storm clash in a moon boot.
The Panthers are expecting Liam Martin to be back in time for the NRL finals despite leaving Penrith Stadium in a moon boot on Thursday night.
While still waiting on scans to confirm the result, Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said the ankle injury Martin sustained during the loss to Melbourne was suspected to be a minor sprain.
“He is having scans today so we don’t know the full extent of the injury yet,” Cleary said.
“We are hoping it is just an ankle sprain. It is an injury that can be super painful, with a lot of swelling, but they are not actually too bad. We are hoping to get a good result and we won’t be missing him for long if that is the case.”
