Dressed in a chequered blue suit jacket and matching kilt, Swims belted out four tunes as he fired up the crowd ahead of the Grand Final.
He kicked his set off with hit Bad Dreams from his latest album before following up with The Door.
The American then channeled his inner Aussie as AC/DC’s smash hit TNT began to belt out through the speakers.
Swims threw his jacket to the turf as he smashed out the Australian pub anthem.
He then wrapped up his performance by delivering his his nine-time platinum song ‘Lose Control’ – which holds the record for longest Hot 100 run in history.
NRL fans divided on Swims’ performance
Like it is with every single show before any Grand Final, opinions on social media were divided by the display.
Because Swims isn’t an Australian artist, there were a flood of posts all asking basically the same question of “who is this guy?”.
But for the large part, fans watching on were loving what they had seen from the American musician.
Catherine Houston wrote: “Teddy Swims is pretty awesome!!”
Dale Roberts added: “Teddy Swims is smashing this AC/DC cover.”
Another posted: “Teddy Swims is way better than Snoop Dogg as grand final entertainment.”
A fourth wrote: “Teddy Swims was fantastic. It was awesome to see him perform TNT as well.”
A fifth added: “Not heard of Teddy Swims before. But what a voice! And he looks tough too. For a Grand Final.”
Teddy Swims’ bizarre airport act
The American strolled through the Sydney terminal on Thursday in a black hoodie and grey shorts with a giant smile spread across his face.

But in one bizarre moment, the Grammy Award winner lifted up his hoodie and exposed his heavily tattooed stomach.
Not finished there, Swims took it a step further by sticking his index finger into his belly button.
Swims has a bear tattooed on his stomach with his belly button acting as the bear’s mouth.
